Romeo and Juliet Embroidery



Maureen stitched up this amazing Romeo & Juliet piece for her partner Carly & Art in the Phat Quarter Movie Swap! She worked her tail off and I think it is one of my favorite embroideries ever :)

Here is the picture she was inspired by from the Zeffirelli Romeo and Juliet:




I love everything about this! The moonlight shadowing that lingers above them is so beautiful. The bead work on both of them is amazing and her delicate pearl barrette makes me swoon.



This was Maureen's first swap and I think she totally ruled at it!

She got fancy with it and stretched the finished embroidery over foam core and then attached that to another piece of foam core covered in silky green brocade fabric and adorned it with pretty gold ribbon to outline the piece.

I almost just made a really cheesy romeo joke, I will spare you!

I hope you love Maureen's piece as much as I do ;)
