Candy Apron!

Hi lovelies! Two days in a row blogging, I know it's crazy! Candy Apron
Maureen stitched Candy up on this adorable scalloped apron that we had made special about a year ago and shaded her in to add a little extra umph! I loved that her and Shane were working on the same lady at the same time, but they are completely different and beautiful in their own way.

I wish I cooked more so that I could use this beauty; maybe this is just the incentive I need to start baking more treats! After all this is a Candy apron and we did just buy a new cookie book ;)
Maureen made me this candy apron for Easter!

Candy Jacket by Shane York!

Shane in her Candy Jacket My lovely friend Shane recently whipped up this beautiful version of candy girl from our Tattooed Ladies Pattern. Shane is having an art show at her favorite local tattoo shop and decided to sew up some jackets with giant tattooed ladies on them for the show! If you have the pattern already, you know how giant these ladies really are, so imagine filling it in with baby stitches and then making it into a jacket!? She even added additional embroidery on the sleeve that is remarkable up close, looking at it is making me want CANDY! Close up Gretel Sweet Tooth on Candy Jacket Candy Jacket side view Sweet
Shane constantly blows my mind with what she creates and accomplishes. I've never met anyone with so much passion for something and dedication to finish huge projects. She spends all of her spare time working on projects that she loves and won't stop until they are all finished! Shane in her Candy Jacket
I can't wait to see this jacket along with the two others hanging in the tattoo shop in all of their glory! If you're interested in coming to the show and you live in the Bay Area, I can share the details of the show :) You go Shane! Shane and I xoxo Katy

Crafty Inspiration

Here is a little inspiration to help me finish my embroidery! Looking at crafts that other people make just make me want to finish mine and create more pretty things. So if you are in the same boat and sometimes needs a little inspiration, this is for you:

Flower Crown Inspiration

Hi lovelies-

Recently I just can't get enough of flower crowns! I have been wanting to make one for a while, but have been completely lazy and just keep contemplating whether I should just buy one or not. But seriously they look like a piece of cake to make so today I've been on the hunt for inspiration and this is what I found...

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

Now I just have to buy some fake flowers and it's on!

Here are some tutorials just in case you want to make one too:

Delightfully Tacky created this tutorial which I am definitely going to use!

Bleubird created this soft and delicate crown, tutorial here.

A beautiful mess created this lovely and simple crown, tutorial here.

Do you feel the same way about flower crowns as me? Are you going to make one too?

If so, I would love to see what you make!

Friendship Embroidery!

Last month my friend Sarah was working on a secret embroidery for me, sometimes even in front of me (which is more complicated than you would think!)She surprised me with it a few weeks ago and I can't express how much I love it!

We are both cancers (born in the best month ever, JULY) so she stitched up a crab, split down the middle and when they are joined together their claws form a heart (precious!) This is one of the sweetest gifts I have ever received, all those tiny stitches and french knots created by one of my favorite people. This is so much more magical than a friendship bracelet or those heart necklaces broken in half that I used to buy from Claire's. Although some of those necklaces were pretty awesome!

We have been trying to figure out what we can sew them on, something that we both have that we wear a lot and we finally decided to stitch them on denim! I'm going to sew mine on a new denim dress I recently got and Sarah is going to sew hers on her denim jacket.

Sarah I love you and our friendship!
