Bead Embroidery
We have been having a blast adding beads to our new embroideries. Beads seem to add that extra special sparkle and makes us love each piece even more. They are the perfect alternative to french knots, not that they need an alternative because they are amazing, but if you are looking for more pizazz try some small beads!
Maureen just finished up this lovely boozin flapper!
She used a few different color pink beads and some glossy white beads for the champagne bubbles. They really look like bubbles! Also she used a new technique, instead of using paint to get some color in her embroidery, she used colored pencils to add some pink shadows. I love the way the whole thing turned out!
Here's a little video we came across on YouTube if you're not sure how to add beads to your pretty embroidery:
have fun!

wow, that is so gorgeous. i love the combination of the beads and the light tinting. i love adding beads. I haven't used sequins yet, i couldn't justify the ridiculously huge, baby sized bag the craft store was trying to push on me. i need to find a smaller alternative, lol. Accckkk, love this soo much, I keep scrolling back up to just stare at it :)
This is SO pretty! Maureen rocked it!
