OMG I'm in Sunset Magazine

When I say I'm in Sunset Magazine, I mean my fabulous ice cream mountain apron! About a year ago we met this super rad chick that worked at our favorite ice cream spot in San Francisco (Bi-rite).At this time last summer we were going to get ice cream 3-4 times a week, sometimes more. Ice cream junkies much?
Here's a closer look:

We began to talk more and more to our favorite ice cream scooper whose name is Andrea but we call Big Red. She is super tall, super fine and has the sweetest tats, one of which is a rad ice cream cone with sprinkles! Johnny and I were going on tons of camping trips that summer, so we began an ongoing project of creating the coolest apron we could think of for her. Johnny and I brainstormed what to do on the apron and we came up with the theme of ice cream mountain, like in the Rugrats episode. Johnny made the best drawing ever for me with a robot shooting lasers into a little person, ice cream cones on top of ice cream cones, mountains on top of the ice cream and trees, which came later inspired by all of the camping trips we were going on. I love at the top where it says Chill DUDE, so ice cream appropriate! Johnny sketched it out for me on the apron in pencil, and all summer I worked on the apron while sitting around the camp fire. Finally in the last week of summer I finished it, and I had never loved a project more!

I was so jazzed to give it to her and when I finally did she LOVED it! She wears it everyday while working and it makes me so happy! I love to see people use things that I make. Looking at the chocolate splattered all over the white apron every time I go in never gets old.

We ran into her on the street yesterday and she asked me if I saw the Sunset magazine page posted up in Bi-rite. I told her I didn't see a thing...
She said OMG I am in sunset magazine and I am wearing the apron you made me!
So I tracked down a Sunset magazine and sure enough AHHHHHHHH there it is!!!! I am so excited. Although my name is not mentioned anywhere, I don't care. There it is, my ice cream apron that took all summer ;) I am so giddddddy!

If you you happen to have the July issue of Sunset Magazine, take a better look on page 33 :)

xoxo
