Felt Flower Clips

I have already proclaimed my love for felt, but I just can't get enough! I have been whipping up these felt flowers like it's nobodies business :) They are so easy! We took the tutorial from martha and modified it to use it for more than just pillow embellishments. The Martha pattern uses ultrasuede fabric to make these cute little flowers and then attaches them to store bought pillows.
Full tutorial here

We figured felt would be a lot less expensive and a lot easier to work with. We were right! The first project we made was flowers in different shades of green and brown to go on my curtain tie backs in my forest themed room. We made them on a camping trip in no time. They require so little materials, you can practically make these anywhere! All you need is felt, scissors, a needle and thread.
The template is here, it is easily traceable and can be easily altered to make bigger or smaller petals. You can cut out a bunch ahead of time to take on the go, or double layer flowers in different colors, which Maureen so brilliantly thought of.
When we recently made the pillbox hats, we were looking for something cute made out of felt to embellish the hats on top. Then it dawned on us, FELT FLOWERS! After we made some for the hat, I started making flowers and just attaching bobby pins on the back or clamp clips. You could easily take a pin and glue it to the back of the flower, so you can wear it as a homemade broach.
Here is the first flower made from the pointed petal Martha pattern, I added a super cute daisy button in the middle and added pink sequins with beads to the ends:

For the second one Maureen drew a more curved petal pattern, so the flower would look more like a daisy and on this one I also used 5 petals instead of 4:

I want to make a MILLION more, I love easy crafts ;)

Give it a try! They look cute with anything, and great when your hair isn't looking so good, hehe.
